Who will play in the 2008 World Series? Tough question this early in the year, but the Pop Culture Guru is here to tell you and listen to what you think. Out of the American League I think the team with the best shot at making it to the World Series in the Boston Red Sox. The Devil Rays have had a nice run, but come September they will fade. I don't see any serious contenders out West and in the Central the White Sox and Tigers I feel can make things happen in the playoffs. They have both been there before. Boston, though, has the least holes and once they get Big Papi back will be unstoppable.
My pick to come out of the AL- Boston Red Sox over Chicago White Sox
The National League is a whole different mountain all together. There are several teams that could find themselves playing in the World Series. Heck, look at the Colorado Rockies last year, no one picked them to be there in the end. The top 5 in the NL are the Cubs, Brewers, Phillies, Mets, and Dodgers. Again, I highly doubt that a team from the West will be win it, but Joe Torre's playoff experience has some value. Al much as I hate to say it, I still don't have faith in the Chicago Cubs. I mean come on- 100 years? With the Brewers picking up C.C. (chocolate cake) Sabathia I'm not even sure the Cubs will win their own division. That being said, the two-headed monster of C.C. and Sheets will tough to beat come playoff time.
My pick to come out of the AL- Milwauke Brewers
As always I want to hear what you guys think. Sox v. Brewers? Who knows, it could end up being Devil Rays v. Diamondbacks (wouldn't that be great). Nah that wont happen!!! haha
